Family restaurants and local cuisine
Cornwall is renowned for famous Cornish pasties; when it comes to family food and scrumptious tasty fare there’s much more than the humble pastry pocket. The traditional filling of meat, potatoes, onion and turnip provided a nutritious lunch for the miners of yesteryear, but Cornwall's close relationship with the sea and fishing has allowed it to capitalize on this popularity and has seen something of a renaissance as a foodie destination. Don’t forget to try traditional Cornish food such as pasties, cream teas and saffron buns! For families looking for a nice meal with kiddies in tow; do try some old fashioned fish and chips; especially at Rick Stein's on Padstow's South Quay. Deliciously tasty!
