Family holidays to Brittany

Brittany is at the north-western tip of France and a great holiday destination for the entire family- the kids will love the tales and legends of Merlin, the knights and King Arthur! Brittany is perfect for people and families of all ages- mum, dad, the kids, grandparents and even perhaps the family dog! Lighthouses, rocky coves and charming fishing villages dot the Brittany coastline.

Large sandy beaches, rock pools or for the more adventurous there are a number of Surf / Sailing schools to keep kids of all ages, including the infamous big kids in every family occupied.
 
Visit the Côte de Granit Rose, kids love this wonderful stretch of coastline full of great pink granite rocks carved into weird and wonderful shapes.
 
This region of France is rich in mythology, music and folk art; a trip to the medieval town of Concarneau, steeped in 14th century history will leave you feeling as if you've magically stepped back in time!
 
Or visit Quimper, the medieval capital of the region which is a beautiful city full of narrow cobbled streets and half timbered houses.
 
Another great day out for the entire family is Brittany’s Oceanopolis where you can watch and learn about the World’s oceans.
 
Be sure to check out the live bird show at the Wild Life Centre and the fish at the Aquarium at Audierne. Kids will love it!

Food in Brittany
Being a fishing port the seafood in Brittany is very good, especially the soupe de poisons and moules marinieres. Try a seafood platter, the whole family could share one as you teach your kids how to surgically remove every morsel of sweet flesh from the lobster’s large claw!
Brittany is also famous for crepes and its savory version, the galette. These thin pancakes are delicious with every imaginable variety of filling. Mouth-watering and divine!
