The white sandy beaches are crystal clear and gently shelved making them perfect for young children; pack a picnic lunch and enjoy the lovely Mediterranean climate.
There are some fascinating towns and villages to explore including Bonifacio in the south, Calvi in the north, the ancient capital Corte and the proud, beautiful Sartene.
Take a leisurely train ride up to the mountains where you will probably meet wild cows, sheep, goats and possibly even wild boar which roam the region.
Hiking is one of the key attractions of this magnificent island, along with its beaches. There is a variety of walks available to suit hikers of all levels of experience including children. With breathtaking scenery and unspoilt countryside- be sure to take your camera!
The coastal resort of the Balagne, originally dubbed the 'Garden of Corsica' is ideal to discover on foot with spectacular mountain views and the undeniable beauty of three of Corsica's natural wonders; the Calanche de Piana, the Spelunca Gorge and the nature reserve of Scandola.
Corsica is an ideal place to take the kids horse riding, as galloping across windswept beaches or riding some of Corsica's hidden pathways is a must for horse lovers.
Or why not try a Donkey ride instead? These are available from Olmi Cappella in the Guissani or Sant'Antonino in the Balagne.
Bait your hooks and throw in a line to catch a fish as Corsica is ideal for river fishing or sea fishing in many of the beaches of the seaside towns. The waters are absolutely teeming with fish so the kids should be able to catch at least one!
Child friendly accommodation and places to stay in Corsica
Corsica has a great range of accommodation which offers families lots of choices; find your home away from home on the beach, centrally in towns or in a hideaway retreat.
If you want to experience the authentic Corsica try an impressive Villa or apartment with private swimming pools in fabulous locations all over the island. With the family in mind, local hotels are another option for your accommodation needs with a hotel to suit every budget and taste, from a small family run auberge to the luxury and refinement of Corsica's most lavish. Family cuisine in Corsica
Corsicans love children and they cater for them in their restaurants with kid’s traditional favorites such as Spaghetti Bolognaise, Pizza, Steak Haché (burger) and good old fashioned fish and chips.
