The largest of the Canary Islands, Tenerife is one of the most popular family holiday spots, and why wouldn’t it be with lots of sun, beaches and other attractions that will keep the kids happy all day long?
Tenerife is one of the most popular destinations for family holidays, especially during the winter and spring. And you can visit the largest of the Canary Islands, located 200 miles off the coast of Africa, all year round. It's a four to five hour flight from the UK.
Beaches and sun are Tenerife's main draws, though the island has other striking attractions. Not least of which Other highlights include the terrific Loro Parque and getting away from the crowds to explore the scenery and atmospheric old towns in the North.

Do go for a leisurely stroll through the Botanical Gardens at Puerto de la Cruz with the family, and then perhaps an ice cream afterward, or a camel ride if time permits at the Camel Centre in El Tanque.
Take a cable-car up to Spain's highest peak (3700 metres), Mount Teide for spectacular panoramic views of the Canary Islands, surrounding seas and landscape. Absolutely breathtaking!

Finally; as the summer sun can be stifling it is advisable to prepare for it with sunscreens, lots of cold water and a hat!
