Dubai, nestled between the desert and the warm blue waters of the southern Gulf is a popular holiday destination for families; well known for its year round sunshine in luxury Arabian style, with a range of activities to suit all tastes in fun be it active, cultural, relaxing or for those that just love to shop.

Places to go with kids in Dubai
There is plenty to do in Dubai to keep children and adults occupied during their holiday. A trip around the city itself is a must do; but be warned traffic is so crazy that an organized bus tour is the best and safest option! For safer adrenalin pumping action, enjoy the thrills and spills of over 30 rides and attractions at Wild Wadi Park. Dubai Creekoffers a close up look into the old trading traditions. Do grab a chance to experience one of the many souks for a glimpse of the real Dubai and its traditional market places.

Jumeirah Mosque is a fine example of modern Islamic architecture; and also do visit Palm Island; the largest manmade island on earth designed in the shape of a palm supposedly visible from the moon! A visit to Dubai must include desert safaris where you will lots of fun and adventure. Perfect for adrenaline junkies or even macho dads! Camel Racing is also a spectacular day out for the whole family.

Don’t forget the Dubai Shopping Experience! The Mall of the Emirates gives shopping a whole new dimension as it’s not just shopping but a huge day out, with amazing leisure and entertainment attractions including a multiplex cinema and its Famous Ski Dubai; not to mention over 350 stores for your shopping extravaganza! And that’s just one of the shopping complexes! Dubai is definitely a shoppers dream! (Husbands and/or dads be warned!)

Child friendly accommodation in Dubai
Dubai is all about decadence and luxury; and the world class facilities, service and style of accommodation certainly confirms this fact. Jumeira's Burj al-Arab or The Arabian Tower as she is known; is a monumental landmark rising straight out of the sea. You may not be able to afford a private room or suite there, but you can admire the breathtaking view from the top of the tower.
Do look for family friendly resorts with kid’s clubs, babysitting and other child friendly inclusions as this will guarantee a truly fantastic hassle free holiday. The Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Grand Hyatt and Habtoor Grand Resort and Spa are just a few that come to mind. It is advisable to do your homework and have a peek online in a virtual tour well before your arrival, as otherwise with so much luxury to choose from; you may not be able to decide!

Family restaurants and local cuisine
Rest assured your children will love eating out in Dubai as they are well catered for; as they have everything on the menu here from traditional local Middle Eastern Cuisine to western fast food chains! And of course as one would expect, fresh fish from the Arabian Gulf is fabulous whether you have it grilled, stuffed, or fried with spices. Most restaurants have kid’s menus; and in some resorts there are up to 45 different restaurants in the one huge resort! How’s that for variety? For a more casual dining experience there are cafes or for some thing a tad different wander around and sample the flavors, scents and just soak up the whole atmosphere of the souks, but do haggle for your best price!

Finally; as you can expect to experience everything from rugged mountains and awesome sun drenched sand dunes to soft sandy beaches and luscious green parks in a single day in Dubai; that leaves more time for those amazing shops! Oh and on that note; if you happen to be traveling in January / February, that’s when the Festival City – shopping event of the year takes place which means even further discounts on goods!
