Stepping into Disney's Hollywood Studios is like entering a series of film sets, which just seem to go on forever. For any lover of Hollywood movies, this is a must see experience, with non-stop shows from stunt men performing high-speed rides to musical spectaculars. Children can learn what its like to star in a real film or talent contest, join in a Disney Cartoon party, shrink to the size of an ant to slide down flower petals, learn how to fight like a Star Wars’ trooper or how to draw a cartoon. A tram takes you past reconstructions of famous action scenes from the movie greats like The Wizard of Oz and Singing in the Rain to the latest Pixar production. Dining in Hollywood Studios is a real nostalgia trip whether you choose a full restaurant meal or just a snack. Disney’s Hollywood Studios – Favourites: ‘Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show’  The title of this stunning stunt show, almost says it all. This is real behind- the-scenes, in-depth look at how the most thrilling movie chase scenes and other daring stunts are performed. From wherever you sit in the open-air grandstand you have a perfect view onto the enormous set of a French Riviera town. The action with specially designed cars, motorbikes and even jet skis is fast, full of sound and fury and fascinating to watch. You first experience it as happens and then later see the sequenced film version on a giant IMAX type screen. This is entertainment of the highest order. The half-hour show is normally performed a few times a day and the ‘stadium’ has five thousand seats so entry is usually not a problem. Very young children may be frightened by the loud noises, but otherwise it will appeal to everyone. Explore Hollywood Studios >. Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Rock 'n' Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith combines the adrenalin thrills of an ultra modern super roller-coaster ride, with the mind blowing Rock and Roll music of Aerosmith. You know this is something special in the first second or so when you accelerate from 0-60 mph against a super-sonic fighter type G force. During the high speed drops, loops and turns your sound sense is assailed with a specially selected synchronised sound system with screaming guitars, augmented by the delighted screams of your fellow riders. It’s all over in an all too short couple of minutes, but is more than worth the wait for this, needless to say, extremely popular attraction. The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror You start your visit to ‘The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror’ in the most appropriate of settings, the hallway of an old creepy Gothic, 13 storey abandoned hotel. By the end of your tour you will have been up and down to every storey and the basement, and it will be a long while before you will be able to calmly enter a lift again. This is because the elevator (we are in America now!) is the star of this show. It’s a little peculiar to say the least. For a start, literally, it moves horizontally with strange surrealistic projections and sounds. On its vertical journey it is even more unpredictable with stomach churning, unannounced free fall drops, ominous stops with eerie shudders followed by either sudden up or down fast shifts from tenth floor to fourth or fifth to basement. It’s everybody’s nightmare and so not recommended for the little ones, or faint-hearted big-ones for that matter, but you’ll love it! Fast pass recommended. Explore Hollywood Studios >
Voyage of The Little Mermaid
Voyage of The Little Mermaid is a wonderful 20-minute show based on the film and performed in a theatre designed to give an underwater atmosphere You are surrounded by reef like walls, fine mists cool you down and the overall colour themes are swirling blues and green. Puppets, live performers as the main fishy characters, dancers, clips from the film and special effects all combine together to tell the story of Ariel and her journey up to the surface to find where humans live. It’s almost worth a visit just to see crabs dancing to calypso music! There is only one slightly scary bit for little ones with the evil sea witch but it is so beautiful it would be a shame for them to miss it (hold their hand tightly through that bit) Fast passes recommended.
Explore Hollywood Studios > Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular!  If you are an Indiana Jones fan then this real life theatre production of ‘Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular!’ is for you and the kids. From your seat in the 2000 plus seat amphitheatre, you look down on the first set of The Temple of Doom with Indie nonchalantly dodging death from poisoned spears and a rolling boulder. Almost in the time it takes to wave a wand or call for a few audience volunteers, the old set is replaced by a Cairo street from the last century complete with roaring motor bikes, lots of foreign baddies and once more Indie comes out on top and rescues the fair maiden. It all goes to prove that a real reality show beats the screen every time. Don’t miss it and with all those seats there’s usually not much waiting to do so don’t waste a fast pass on it.
