Fantastic Family Holiday
12 Jul 2011
Visited with: Infant
We went in june 2011 with another couple and their 4 month old baby boy so there were 4 adults and a 22month old and a 4 month old. This was a fantastic holiday. The apartment we stayed in was brand new and the owners provided two cots for us so we didn’t have to drag any with us from England! We stayed for two weeks and went into the town almost every day. It was a 50 minute walk into town so we usually caught the bus which was only 2 Euros each (kids free) and then walked back after our evening meal. The good thing about this was we could eat like a horse! At the apartment there was a fantastic pool area which was very private. Also it felt like it was our own private pool as no one else from the other 17 apartments ever came down to use it. There was a BBQ on our balcony so some evenings we would stay in and let the kids go to bed and enjoy the peace. It was a ground floor apartment which was great for the kids. During the day they could have their naps whilst we all sunbathed round the pool feeling very safe. There are two bedrooms one with an en suite and then a bigger bathroom to share. A fully fitted kitchen (which was great for baby bottles) and a spacious lounge area. There are a couple of bars near the apartment, one was only 1.40 euro for a large beer! There is also a golf driving range two minutes walk up the road so the hubbies went and did that for an afternoon and then we met them later for tea, they did a great BBQ with some fantastic fresh fish! I would suggest if you can to hire a car if you’re not so keen on walking as it is a bit of a trek but then again we managed ok and it certainly didn’t ruin our holiday. The marina at Vilamoura is very nice, there are plenty of restaurants to choose from and all have high chairs and children’s menus. To be honest though we only ordered once from the kiddies menu as it was all the same, pizza, fish fingers etc. My daughter preferred to have whatever we ate and so we just got her a plate. If you go to the website you can contact the owner who is very helpful. He provided 2 cots and a highchair and couldn’t do enough to help us!
