Family Days Out in Cambridge
|
Cambridge is a wonderful destination for family days out with a host of fantastic child friendly things to do in and around the town. Famed for its world class university, Cambridge is one of the most beautiful places to visit in the UK with the university’s stunning campus and ancient architecture a must-see for families making their first visit. The university’s Botanic Garden has a first-rate collection of flora and fauna and anyone with an interest in plants will delight in wandering round this tranquil and stunning collection of gardens. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and have lots of educational activities to interest both kids and adults alike. Another great spot for family walks is at Anglesey Abbey, a National Trust-managed Jacobean-style property with beautiful surrounding grounds and the Hoe Fen Discovery Area where the kids get an opportunity to watch the diverse local wildlife. No visit to Cambridge would be complete without learning something and two particularly interesting exhibition centres to visit are the Whipple Museum of the History of Science with its extensive collection of amazing science instruments from the Middle Ages to the present and also the Imperial War Museum Duxford which is the main aircraft museum in Europe hosting a huge collection of both military and civil aircraft. |
