Cambridge University Botanic Garden overview

The Cambridge University Botanic Garden is a beautiful, tranquil space, located close to Cambridge city centre. With year-round interest, the garden is beautifully landscaped into different types of ... plant habitat. The Cambridge University Botanic Garden is a fantastic place for anyone interested in plant sciences at any level, as well as a place for quiet reflection and simply enjoying the beauty of nature. Special educational activities often take place for both children and adults, and there are regular drop-in workshops for families, so it is worth checking the website prior to visiting. A new state of the art research laboratory is currently being built, and is due for completion in 2010. Children under sixteen are admitted free, but must be accompanied by an adult at all times. There is no playground and ball games are not allowed, however children will love exploring the Cambridge University Botanic Garden. A must for every family!

Beautiful gardens, close to city centre

18 Mar 2010
Visited with: Infant, Child, Teenager
We spent a lovely day with the whole family, ages ranging 6 months to 62 years! Beautiful gardens, planted to reflect diversity, including water garden, woodland garden, rock garden, alpines, greenhouses, medicinal plants, etc. and numerous tree and shrubs. On the day we went, there was a whole variety of activities for children, so the children were kept entertained. There is a very busy cafe however because it was so busy it took a long time to get food, so it is actually better to take a picnic, which we have done on several other occasions. Parking is not so easy as it is all on road metered parking.
