Delamere Forest Park overview

trails both for walking and cycling. There is also a cafe and information centre about the forest’s large variety of wildlife from woodpeckers to oaks.

Delamere Forest Park is a great day out if you love walking and the great outdoors. We went armed with a picnic basket and our walking shoes and had a really great day. We followed a more easier path as we had our little one with us. The paths are rocky and sometimes on a slight hill so wheelchairs and buggies would be a bit difficult. We looked out for different trees, plants, flowers and birds and even saw a rabbit or two. We had a picnic in the picnic area of the main carpark and it was a lovely day so the weather wasn't an issue. There were also bike trails you could follow which we are going to try out soon. Delamere is what you make of it and you can go for a short stroll or a big trek. We also noticed that they provide pony treks and horse riding classes. There is also a Go Ape here which we will certainly look at when our little on is older. There is plenty to do at Delamere Forest but not many places nearby for food or drink although there were a couple of burger vans and icecream vans.
