Bigbury-on-Sea

Bigbury-on-Sea is a fantastic flat, safe - and a very large - sandy beach on the south coast of Devon. It's very much off the beaten track, down narrow country lanes, but when you crest the hill and see the beach - and Burgh Island just off the coast - it's worth it!
There's a good cafe and toilets on the cliff-top above the beach - plus lifeguards on duty. And there's a surfing school and a small shop too. There is a large car park which you have to pay for; although you if you get there early, you can park for free further away from the beach.
