This Spy Mission cycling trail follows the old Tarka line railway track between Braunton and Barnstaple, taking in the River Taw and Torridge estuaries giving you plenty of lovely scenery on route. ...
The idea is simple. Treasure Trails will provide you with a set of clues for which you have to find answers. To do this you follow their directions on a well-marked trail. The answers will be found on various monuments, inscriptions, road signs etc on your ride. Once you have them you have to solve the clues and crack a code and hopefully win you a cash prize in their annual draw. The route is 6 miles from Braunton to Barnstaple where there are many cafes and pubs but don’t eat too much as of course its also 6 miles back!.
