Saltram overview

Saltram is a National Trust Property close to Plymouth. Home to the Parker family for nearly 300 years, the house with its original contents provides a fascinating insight into country-estate life ... throughout the centuries. For families visiting Saltram, there is a family house trail and family explorer packs, as well as a childrens play area. There are also regular events held at Saltram throughout the year, including open-air theatre, craft fairs, costumed Georgian evenings and special events for families including Wizard School and Pirates and Princesses Day. Dogs are wlecome on leads and on designated paths only. Facilities include a cafe which serves childrens meals and provides both high chairs and bottle warming facilities, cycle tracks, gift shop, free car parking, art gallery, toilets with baby changing facilities and you can even loan a pushchair from the main house if you need to.

Let them run wild!

11 Oct 2010
Visited with: Infant, Child
Saltram has loads of open space for the little ones to run around. You can also ride their bikes, climb trees, play football enjoy the playground (on the small side but OK for under 5's) - visit the cows, ducks and bird lookout. When you've worn them out visit the cafe for yummy cakes and coffee. The cafe is very child friendly with bibs, plastic plates, cups and a microwave for warming baby food, Loads of highchairs and a children's table with colouring and puzzles.
