You only have to take one look at Herstmonceux to realise it is quite simply the most beautiful castle in England. It has probably remained untouched because no would be besieger would have had the ...
heart to destroy such perfection! It has to be a must for any family looking for a day out in Sussex. The castle’s enchantment does not end with its appearance as it is surrounded by gorgeous Elizabethan Gardens, woodland walks and verdant parkland and in keeping with the times a Nature Trail and Play Area for the children. There is even a world famous Science Centre, which is definitely worth a visit as of course is the interior of the castle itself. Note the Gardens and Grounds are now closed but reopen on Saturday 16th April 2011.
