Blackberry Farm overview
Blackberry Farm is a classic open farm set in the pretty Weald of Kent. It has all that you’d require of a good day out at the farm, healthy, vaguely happy-looking animals, penned so that you can ...
get close enough without being hissed at or bitten, tractor rides, vast outdoor play areas with adventure playgrounds, trampolines, swing boats, sand pits with digging equipment, and even mini John Deere tractors to ride. There is an indoor play area with romping zone for toddlers as well as more vertiginous fun for the older kids and obviously a gift shop. There are plenty of well-informed people on hand to talk to the children about the animals and enough hand-washing facilities to fend off the fears of infection! There is a small but good café and plenty of picnic tables for the BYO option. Blackberry Farm does very good birthday parties with guided tours, special tractor ride and a separate room for the birthday tea.

We had a great day at Blackberry Farm. The weather was good so we were able to use all the outdoor play areas which were a favourite for my son (9yrs). We started with the huge jumping pillow (adults can join in on this one!) then moved on to the astra slide, tunnel slide and trampolines. For the younger ones there are playhouses and climbing frames too. Next we tried the obstacle course which was excellent as there are two identical sets of equipment so you can race you friends, with a bell to ring at the end. This is more suited for the older children but next to the course is an area with bouncy hoppers that will keep the little ones amused. At midday the drop slide was opened in the soft play barn so we rushed back to have a go. This was a vertical drop slide, fully supervised, and my son loved it. My niece who is only 5 was apprehensive at first but after one try was hooked. The soft play barn has an eating area which would be useful if it was raining. There is also a café with both indoor and outdoor seating areas. During the summer tractor rides run hourly, this was probably the only time my son sat down during the whole day! It takes you through the animal areas and it was great to see the goats, pigs and sheep roaming around. We purchased some animal feed so we could feed the goats, sheep, ducks and geese. This was a lovely opportunity for the children and the animals were very friendly. In the small animal barn there are chipmunks, mice, degus, rabbits and guinea pigs. At certain times of the day you can hold some of them. I would highly recommend this farm. It was very clean, the staff were friendly and helpful and the signage is clear. There is lots to do on a dry day and the kids could have stayed all day, we will definitely be back!

This is a really fun farm. The animals are just about interesting enough to keep children’s attention, llamas and the like help, and there are sheep and goats to touch and feed as well as the usual rodents and bunnies. The tractor ride is long enough to keep them keen but not bum-achingly long. But it is the play equipment that really scores here. The zip line is superb, the sand pit has got enough of those sit on big metal scoops to go around, there are seven or so big trampolines, lots of stuff for smaller people and a set of lovely old fashioned swing boats that the children adore. There are also plenty of seats for the Old People! The café is not bad, but I reckon this one’s a place to bring your own food!
