Parklands Open Space overview

Parklands Open Space in Upminster is between Corbets Tey Road and Park Farm Road and can be accessed from either street. The Parklands is all that remains of the Gaynes Park Estate, which was ... originally owned by the Esdaile family. There is a lake running the length of the park, which was created in the 18th century when the family dammed a stream. Today it is a popular fishing lake surrounded by grassland and trees, making it a great place for children to play games or for families to have picnics. There is a small car park near the Park Farm Road entrance, but there is no car park near the Corbets Tey Road entrance but there is parking available in nearby streets. There are no toilet facilities or refreshment facilities at Parklands, the nearest are probably in Upminster town centre a ten minute walk away.

Parklands Open Space in Upminster is situated between Corbets Tey Road and Park Farm Road and can be accessed from either street, it is quite secluded and therefore not often busy. It used to be part of a private estate but is now owned by the local council. It is a lightly wooded area which has a long lake which stretches the length of the park and is very popular with local anglers. There are also a number of grassy areas which can be used by children to ride bike or play games and also for families to have picnics.
