Cotswold Country Park & Beach overview
Situated within the extensive Cotswold Water Park, Cotswold Country Park & Beach is a good-sized country park with two main lakes; two children's play areas and the UK's largest inland beach. Walking ...
around the lakes is very popular and includes a fascinating fossil and sculpture trail. Bicycles and boats can be hired here too. The play areas are fantastic, one being a safe enclosed area for toddlers with diggers, slides and paddling area. The second is designed for older children and is located next to the beach. Food is available from a beachside kiosk or the Lakeside café in the Visitor Centre at the main entrance. You can also hire a barbeque and cook your own food. A gift shop selling maps, toys and ice creams is located in the Visitor Centre. During the summer you can buy inflatable boats, oars, inflatable rings and balls to use at the beach. Parking is free at Cotswold Country Park & Beach but you pay a small charge per person on exit of the park.
A beach without a long drive and motorway (or for that matter a coast!).

Most summers we hire one of their large barbecues, invite all our friends and family and spend the day relaxing by the man-made beach. Considering we normally need to drive for an hour and a half to get to a beach, it's a great alternative.
On the negative side, they used to charge entry by the car, but now it is per person so much more expensive.

Great place to go whatever the season. During the spring and autumn we go and walk round the lake before visiting the play area. We like the play area by the entrance and often take a blanket and a picnic. The kids can paddle and play with bucket and spades here too. The area is enclosed so is very safe. If it’s cold we go and get hot drinks from the café next to the play area. The shop is popular with our kids, there are lots of cheap toys they can spend their pocket money on. A bit pricey in the summer but very cheap out of season.

We only visit the park in the summer but it’s brilliant. It’s the only chance our kids get to visit a beach and they love it. We take all their swimming things and our inflatable boat and they spend all day paddling, rowing and digging sandcastles. It is always windy here so can feel cooler than other places but in the summer it’s nice to have the breeze. Food is good, we usually get chips and ice-creams from the beach café but it does get really busy on hot days and if you go towards the end of the day ice creams and beach toys are often sold out.
