The Butts Farm overview
The Butts Farm is a family run Rare Breeds farm. Children can join in all the activities and have real experience of farming. They can watch chicks hatching, cuddle the bunnies, feed the pigs, give ...
lambs and goat kids their bottles and much, much more. There are also regular Pony Rides on a Friday and Sunday. The Butts Farm is also home to the Sunrising Stud of Welsh Mountain Ponies and families can see their foals in the summer. They farm rare breeds of cattle, sheep, pigs, goats and poultry at the same location as the shop. The farm is open to the public during the summer and attracts over 10,000 visitors per year. Facilities on site include a farm shop, toilets and free car parking.
Worst place ever - BUTTS Farm

I went on a pre- school visit to this farm today. All I can say is DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. The lady who runs the place is nothing but rude, arrogant, & down right offensive and seems to believe kids aged 2-4 should stand silently in a line while she orders them around. She was not only extremely rude to the pre-school staff but appeared to treat her own staff with a similar level of contempt. I can only suggest that no other pre-school every thinks that it is a great place to visit – as it is not only a waste of money but just leaves a bitter taste in your mouth.

Located just outside Cirencester the Butts Farm really does have a feel of a proper working farm. Entrance is through the farm shop and there is no separate cash desk, staff take money for an order of the award winning meat in one minute and a farm visit in the next.
The farm specialises in rare breeds and animals include pigs, sheep, chickens and goats. We arrived at 11am in time to witness the daily milking of the goat – children are allowed to try their hand but my three year old declined on this occasion. Then it was time to help feed the lambs. They were definitely well practised in the art of getting all the milk out of a bottle constantly being passed on between children of different sizes and ages and the children thought it was great. The children enjoyed looking at all the other animals, particularly the pigs with piglets in tow but the real attraction proved to be the play area.
There is a large wooden pirate ship with sand and slides which they enjoyed but for both children (3 & 1) the highlight was a real tractor which they could sit on and pretend to drive. The farm premises are a little run down but feel much less commercialised and real as a result. On Fridays and Sundays they offer pony rides at 2pm and on Saturday you can do a tractor safari at 2pm.
There is a tea room and you can buy ice creams in the shop but there are no baby changing facilities.
Entrance is £5 per adult and £4 for children although under 3’s go free.
