Land of Play overview

Land of Play is a great new childrens play centre located in Trafford Park just off the M60 motorway and close to The Trafford Centre. With a large climbing play area and a seperate baby and toddler ... area there is something for all ages. There are also motorised Go-Karts where the parents can sit on the back and extra rooms for parties. Land of Play also has a seating and food area within the play areas so you can keep an eye on the kids and order food to your table. The menu is has a varity of foods at affordable prices and they even do breakfast foods. Parties are a great idea here with anything from a small toddler party to exclusive hire of the play centre for reasonable prices. For extras there are heating facilities for baby food/milk, free wi-fi access and lockers. Check out the Land of Play website for prices on entry and opening times.

one of the worst ran play centres

We visited land of play with our two year old daughter as weather was rubbish, we waited around 10 minutes to be let in as no staff were visible, we then ordered food after about 20 mins of arriving and took quite a while to arrive(a sandwich platter) consisting of one piece of bread with a bit of cheese squashed on it, a handful of quavers and a yogurt. Our daughter went for a play and we decided that we should use the slide as it was quite fast and children were already injuring themselves, the staff then decided to use the slide themselves and in the process began spraying it with wax during a busy saturday afternoon. My partner went down the slide with my daughter and 'took' off on the last bump cracking his ankle and unable to walk properly. We were offered no assistance and when enquiring about why they'd wax during the day we was told they only did this once a day and it was in the morning- obviously a lie... also its 'no fun for the kids if the slides too slow'. I was very shocked at the girls attitude to child safety and would never recommend this place to any one! Overall service shocking and not a safe place to visit!

Terrible experience!

Had a very disappointing visit to land of play this afternoon. My self and two friends, with 5 children were looking forward to a fun afternoon, how disappointed we were We decided to order food for the eight people. On placing the order we were told there would be a 25 minute wait which was acceptable, allowing the children time to play before eating. we were disappointed that some menu items, jacket potatoes were unavailable, but selected two salads as a second choice. After a wait of nearly 50 minutes the children's food (sandwich platters) arrived, with ice cream instead of the listed fruit. With the children's food there arrived one adult chicken wrap. We were then informed that the salads, ordered 50 minutes earlier were not available as they 'didnt have enough' to make them. We then changed this order to two chicken wraps, then were told there would be a further 20 minute wait. At this point we complained that this was not acceptable, as the rest of our group were already eating. The two chicken wraps arrived after 15 minutes, however one plate had to be returned as when ordering this third choice meal I requested no coleslaw, obviously this was ignored as the plate was piled high with coleslaw! I am very upset about the poor service we were subject to. We did request to speak to the manager, and felt that her attitude was very dismissive. In fact, she did not have the courtesy to come to our table, and one member of our group had to seek her out as we were told she was 'too busy' to speak to us. As customers paying a total of around £50 for a 90 minute play session and food I expect a higher quality of service. I would not recommend a visit here and would not give a positive review, neither the food or service was acceptable. I understand that the summer holidays are busy, but this drop in standards is unacceptable. Surely a large facility should be prepared for the summer holidays, particularly when the weather is poor.

We went along as a family of 4 on a friday afternoon and had a great time. With the large climbing area for 3 and above and a section for babies and toddlers it was perfect for us. It has a go-karts section where you put £1 in the car and it goes for 5 minutes. The good thing is there is a space for mum or dad to sit on the back so you can lean over and help steer. My daughter of 3 loved it. We also ordered food which was lovely - i recommend the panini!

Land of Play is a great day out with your children. The facilities include a large indoor climbing frame with separate toddler's play area, a custom built electric go-kart area, excellent home cooked food and party area for all occassions. While the children play the adults are able to relax in a comfortable environment complete with excellent hot beverages, wifi services and healthy choice of snacks.
