Pottery Corner, Manchester

our trip to pottery corner was a surprise, i envisaged playing with clay and moulding our own pottery... a perfect day out for my 3 & 4 year old i thought. upon arrival we found mum was wrong and it was actually a paint your own pottery studio. the studio fee is only £5 with a huge selection of unfired pottery to paint. our budget was quite limited so we opted for items from the <£10 range which included a money box, a dragonfly and a mug for mum... then set to work on our masterpieces. the staff were really friendly and helpful, they didnt mind my messy boys being clumsy with their paint, or a little noisy and excited whilst painting. other customers were sitting nicely creating beautiful looking masterpieces whereas me and my children seemed to be unskillfully slopping paint here there and everywhere. it was a good hours fun for the boys, and we left our works with pottery corner to be fired. i really wasnt expecting much upon arrival 5 days later to collect the pieces, however i wowed when i went in. what appeared to be 3 sloppy messy splattered pieces of random pottery had been transformed into beautiful shiny unique pieces of art. the firing and glaze made our awful attempt at artwork appear beautiful. i recommend this experience to anyone, no matter how little artistic talent you think you have. go ahead and impress yourself with your own handiwork,

We had a random idea of visiting pottery corner in manchester one day as our friends had taken their children and said it was a lovely trip out. And it was. We really enjoyed it and the kids got to paint their own plates. Definatlry an encourage to eat a bit more veg when their masterpiece lies beneath. They do parties there and i think it would be a great idea if you want something a bit different. You can ask pottery corner to do more professional bits and bats for something personal. We are going to arrange to go again with some friends as really enjoyed it.
