Eastnor Castle in the Malvern Hills is very grand with an exterior that looks the part and an interior that makes Downton Abbey look a bit like the gamekeepers cottage. Over the centuries its huge ...
baronial halls and staircases have filled with shiny coats of armour and family portraits. Its huge dining room has accrued more and more precious porcelains and silver and there are probably more rooms to peer in than at the Savoy but better furnished. Outside it is surrounded by extensive parklands with photogenic deer, gorgeous woodlands and a huge lake. It is open all the year round for private functions like weddings and company events and to the general public over the main holidays, quite a few weekends and most of the summer. On a nice day it makes a pleasant an interesting destination for a family day out and they frequently put on interesting family events.
