If you are interested in local history then a visit to Hertford Museum will be very rewarding. The displays depict Hertford's historic past as a royal borough and market town for a large rural ...
population. It also contains the Hertfordshire Regiment Collection. ??The changing programme of temporary exhibitions helps to explain the history of this market town, so do check if you plan a visit.

We rushed over to Hertford Museum as we heard it has been refurbished. What a great job, the museum now boasts a wonderful shop exciting displays and a lift to the first floor. The displays are rich and themed which makes it easy to talk about things will the kids. However, best of all for us was the play shop which entertained my two for nearly an hour. We saw a samurai outfit and marveled at the fossils. It was interesting to learn all about the local toothbrush factory and see some of the historic photographs. We really enjoyed our visit here and best of all its free!
