Verulamium Museum overview
Odd to think that the Italians once ruled Britain for more than 300 years. Just imagine if Rome hadn't fallen we might have Berlusconi as Prime Minister! Of course the Romans were a bit better ...
organised in those days and if you want the kids to know a little more about what it was like to live In Roman Britain then this very child friendly museum will bring it to life. Try to visit on a weekend when the Roman soldiers invade!
Romans, skeletons and imagination

Verulamium Museum is situated in Verulamium Park, it has a large carpark outside but in the summer be warned you'll be lucky to get a space. The museum itself is entirely on one level which made it brilliant for our buggy and the friendly helpful staff gave us a selection of activity sheets which kept the toddler happy. We loved looking at the skeletons and the mosaics. the shop is bright and has lots of the usual pocket money gifts. Not a whole day of activity, rather a few hours but outside the museum there's a lovely park and a rather nice cafe. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.
