Kelsey Park overview
Kelsey Park in Beckenham has some of the most beautiful landscaped areas in the borough. There is plenty of wildlife to be seen including Canadian geese, swans and many other species. There is a very ...
popular enclosed children’s playground, which will keep the children amused for hours. There are tennis courts, crazy golf and plenty of lawns for picnics in the park. The paths are nice and level so you can easily take a stroll with a pushchair around the whole lake. A cafe has just opened next to the playground serving snacks, drinks and ice creams and the toilets next to the cafe have baby changing facilities. Don’t forget to take a bag of nuts, as there are lots of hungry squirrels who are quite happy to take the food from your hand. If you take bread for the ducks the park owners ask that you only feed them brown bread, as white bread is not good for them.
A great park

We visit this park fairly often. It has a river running through it with lots of ducks, geese and other water fowl waiting for food. And a lot of hungry squirrels for your nuts as well.
One side of the park is also dog-free. There is a large lawn area to sit and have a picnic or just doze.
A children playground is there as well.
The park has multiple entrance gates and apart from hot and sunny Sundays there is always enough space to park on the residential roads.
The only negative point is the new cafe. The council could have done a better job as you get really bad drinks and only junk sweets and ice cream. An old-fashion tea room would have been better.

This is one of the best parks I know for children, it really does have everything to keep them entertained. My only gripe would be 'changing facilities' but I know they are building a large cafeteria so hopefully this will include them when it is finished. I think there are only temporary toilets at the moment.
There is a large lake with beautiful swans, ducks and Canadian Geese. We often take bread along to feed the birds and the walk around the lake is lovely. It’s well worth taking a bag of monkey nuts as there are a lot of squirrels roaming and they will actually take a nut from your hand which the children love.
There is a large outside play area with everything you could imagine. Lots of people come to the park for picnics as there is plenty of grass areas to sit and benches.
It makes a really lovely day out.
