Capstone Farm Country Park overview
Capstone Farm Country Park in Gillingham, Kent makes a real fun day out for all the family. The park is very large covering 114 hectares with lots of walking and horse riding trails, but it is very ...
hilly in places so probably best to leave the pushchair at home. The park has many beautiful fields and woodland areas with walks that are well sign posted with way markers and there is a fun children’s play area next to the lake, as well as a café selling hot and cold snacks. Other facilities include a picnic area, cycling paths, visitor’s centre, fishing (you must have a day ticket), an education room and public and disabled toilets. There is also a large car park and a public telephone. Capstone Farm Country Park is well worth a visit on a nice day and don’t forget to take along fishing net for the children to have a go at fishing!

This is a nice place to go if you just want to get out in the fresh air and let the children burn off some energy.
There is a big lake and there are often people fishing here. The cafe has a small selection so I would advise to bring a picnic if you fancy eating here, there are plenty of picnic benches dotted around. The ice cream selection is pretty good!
There is a children’s play area and lots of different routes for walking. We use to put our son in a back carrier, as some walks can be on the hilly side.
Well worth a visit.
