Riverside Country Park overview

Local Nature Reserve. There are various habitats at Riverside Country Park including mudflats and salt marsh, ponds and reed-beds, grassland and scrub, which provide a haven for wildlife. Facilities at the park include a visitor centre with toilets, regular events for children, education room, café, children’s play area, picnic facilities, cycle paths, nature trails and car parking.

I have been visiting Riverside Country Park for years, firstly for dog walking and now a great place to take the children whilst visiting Nanny. The park runs alongside the Medway Estuary. You can walk for miles, there are many trails and the kids love it as they believe they are at the beach (I haven’t told them any different yet)!! There is a very good café selling wide variety of drinks and refreshments. There are toilets too. In the café’s garden, there is a small children’s play area and lots of picnic benches. Riverside is very popular with cyclists and this is something we plan to do once my son has finally cracked it!! Another great benefit to this park is the onsite car park, which is free to use. Highly recommended.
