Mote Park Maidstone overview

The beautiful Mote Park covers 450 acres of land and has a 30-acre lake. There is a very large children’s play area with sand pit and a wide variety of equipment suitable for children of all ages. ... There is also a skateboarding ramp for older kids. The park is used by cyclists and walkers, as there is a lovely walk around the lake. Mote Park has a miniature railway, which runs on Sunday’s and Bank Holiday Mondays, which is a big favourite with all families. If you fancy a swim, the Maidstone Leisure Centre is located on the edge of the park near to the children’s play area. Mote House on the eastern side of the park is well worth a visit, along with its beautiful walled gardens. A cafe is located by the children’s play area selling ice creams and a variety of drinks and snacks. There is ample parking and the toilets are located next to the cafe. Mote Park is ideal for picnics and ball games and makes a lovely day out for all the family!

Beautiful green spaces

We have enjoyed some lovely times as a family at Mote Park in Maidstone. On a sunny day, Mote Park is a wonderful place to take the kids. There is a large play park full of various swings, slides, climbing frames, roundabouts etc. And if that’s not enough, there is a brilliant pitch and putt course to play on which is always good fun. We usually take a picnic but the park café is really affordable and offers a good selection of drinks and snacks. The last time we visited Mote Park it was a bank holiday and featured a fabulous funfair, a real treat for the kids.

I have been coming to this park since I was a little girl and now bring my two. We like to take a long stroll around the lake which can take a very long time as the lake is absolutely huge (30 acres to be precise), it’s a really lovely walk. There is a good sized children’s play area and a cafe to get drinks and ice creams. We usually bring a picnic in the summer as the grounds are beautiful and are so large, you can always find a spot that no one else has. There is a miniature railway, which runs on Sundays in the summer, the children love it. It’s a very nice day out, well worth a visit.
