Hampstead Heath overview

Escape to the wilds of Hampstead Heath and you can forget you are still in the city. Informal and natural, there are no formal flowerbeds or statues, just shady trees, dirt paths, wild meadows, birds ... and wildlife and stunning views from Parliament Hill. Walking, kite flying or just relaxing, Hampstead Heath is a great place to be with children on warm summer days. There are eight fenced off play areas for kids and lots of summer activities as well as Bank Holiday Fairs. Take a picnic, or call in at the extremely child friendly Brew House Cafe.

Lots to do

I have fond memories of feeding the ducks in the duck pond as a child and my son loves it too. the children's playground is great with lots to do, although can get busy. He loves going into the woods too.

Fun in the park in the summertime

I took my son to Hampstead Heath last summer and he had the best time. The children’s play park is fantastic with so much to do. There are plenty of swings for the little ones, which makes a change as many places only offer two or three, and the huge sandpit was well equipped with buckets and spades. We went on a very hot day and the children’s paddling pool was full of children and their parents taking a dip to cool off. My son had a ball in the water and didn’t want to leave. I would say this was one of the best parks we have been to in regard to facilities for the children.
