Hampton Open Air Pool overview
Hampton Open-Air Pool is unusually open 365 days a year! Whatever the weather you can enjoy a swim in the warm water of their outdoor pools, which are set at 28 degrees. A large pool is split in two, ...
half for lane swimmers and half for children and families to play in. Additionally, there is a smaller toddler pool, with a sloping edge, where little ones can play and splash. Substantial grassy picnic areas surround the pools, so families can bring a rug and settle in for the day! During the summer you can catch open-air theatre in the pool grounds. Productions take place for both families and adults. For those planning to spend time in the area, swimming lessons are available for children and season tickets are available for frequent swimmers. There is an on-site car park and shop area selling swimming equipment.
Too busy!

We visited during the summer holidays on a hot day and found it very busy. It was very crowded in the changing rooms and pretty chaotic. Outside the pool was busy too and you couldn’t hope to do any proper swimming. The kids didn’t care though and couldn’t wait to jump in. They were happy splashing about and playing whilst we tried to avoid bumping into other people and getting splashed. It’s worth staying close to younger children as they could easily get lost here. The pool is a great facility but would be much more enjoyable on a quieter day.

A great pool

A great pool to visit on a dry day. It is heated so it doesn’t matter if the weather is cool. The prices are quite expensive but you can stay in the pool as long as you like. We take floats and noodles with us to use and the kids have their armbands. The small slides provide extra fun and we often stay all afternoon. You can get refreshments from Sun Deck Cafe by the pool, which is handy, or you can bring your own snacks and drinks. The pool shop there sells goggles, armbands and other swim things in case you forget anything.

Hampton Open Air Pool

Hampton Open Air Pools are great fun and brilliant for a family day out. I gather that they are extremely popular throughout the year; they were very busy when we came during the summer. There are two pools, the larger one for adult swimming and older children; the small, shallow pool for toddlers and mums with babies. The water in both pools is lovely a warm! We enjoyed a nice swim and then lay out on the grass in the sun while the kids played ball. It was a bit difficult at times in the toddler pool with the little ones as it was very busy and some older children were splashing the babies and generally making lots of noise. However, it is all part of the family experience and we would definitely go again!

Hampton Open Air Pool was a real surprise! We found it advertised on the internet and went along not knowing what to expect. The pools were both brilliant! The larger pool was great for bigger kids who want to jump and splash, whilst the small baby pool was really nice for our little ones to stand up in and play. We were not able to sit on the grass this time as we had some little ones with us who did not want to get out, so we had to stay in and supervise! But the lawns looked really nice and we will plan a full day out here soon.
