Banham Zoo overview

Your family can enjoy watching the animals from the comfort of the Safari Road Train, with expert commentary on the amazing range of wildlife on display. The animals are all safely enclosed but ... children are allowed to run wild in the superb adventure play area with its giant slides and special under 7s area.

Wild day out!

We have been to Banham Zoo several times, the last time was a few weeks ago. The children, now 9 and 14, still love it! There is always plenty to do, with extra activities, especially in school holidays. There is a wide variety of animals to see, and the vulture display was brilliant. It is best to plan your visit as there a various feeding times for different animals (seals, penguins, tigers etc). If you haven’t been before this is a full day! We usually take a picnic and children will need to save up their pocket money for the shop– we always come away with yet more cuddlys! Highly recommended!

Animal Adventure!

In the middle of south Norfolk you will come across a great day out – Banham Zoo. The zoo has all the usual suspects; birds, penguins, seal pool, monkeys of all shapes and sizes, tigers, kangaroos, camels, leopards, eagles with bird of prey displays, a mini farm, petting area and giraffes. There is a great little train (FREE, you can safely leave your pushchair until your return) that takes you on journeys around the zoo and lots of interactive things to get involved with. There is a large indoor activities and learning centre, a playground and a nice restaurant area with an outdoor terrace shaded by big Australian sails. The zoo is very clean and well kept and the animals all looked healthy. There is a scheme where you can sponsor the animals and there is beautiful section featuring flamingos - we got some great photos. The children had a lovely time, we had plenty of exercise and there is loads of free parking (thought I had better mention that).
