For centuries, England had hundreds of estates like Shugborough where the great Manor House or Stately home was completely self sufficient with all its needs supplied by the home farm, its estate and ...
an army of servants. What they have done at Shugborough is to recreate that Golden Age of Stately Home living with the help of live actors in carefully restored original settings from Victorian kitchen to Dairy. There is a lot to see and do, not least just enjoying the lovely walks along the river and touring the House. A popular feature is the little train that chugs around the Grounds to save the little (and big) ones tired feet.
