The big kid inside me loves this place and the little kid i took with me loves it too! It's like a more easy to get to and cheaper disney land. Its set out very well and the rides have a great appearance and are loads of fun too! fun for all the family and you could spend the whole day here easily, hopefully a sunny day! one of my favourite rides was Thirteen, it was really cool! My son loved the sonic spinball!

We decided to get a hotel down here last summer and it was a really good decision, there is so much to do in the park! There are rides for everyone, I am a mega thrillseeker whereas my boyfriend isn't so he stayed off the extreme rides with my daughter when I went on them, but on the childs side of thing there are just as much rides as there is for adults. My daughters favourite ride was the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory as she is a big fan of the show! She was rather disappointed that she didn't get chocolate though! I have to admit I enjoyed it just as much. It's like Disneyland but a lot cheaper to get to! Highly recommended.

Great day out!

We’d wanted to visit Alton Towers for ages but a little put off having a toddler with us. But after reading reviews we decided to go for it. Us big kids loved the fast rides and were able to keep the younger ones entertained as there was something for most ages there. Yes, its pricey once you’re in, you’re in and can go on any of the rides there. Only thing is that you can’t quite fit them all in no matter how hard we tried! There were some fun little rides and characters dressed up to make the little ones smile and plenty of toilets, and amenities about which are clean and well stocked. No ploughing through your bag to find spare tissues as there’s no loo roll!!! Staff were helpful too which isn't often the case in places like this. We’ll definitely go back again.

Easily the best theme park in the UK

Alton Towers is often compared to Thorpe Park, as to which is better than the other. In my opinion, Alton Towers wins hands down for its all round family fun and innovative ride designs. Although predominately aimed at teenagers and young adults with rides such as The Oblivion, Air, Rita and Nemesis, there's also areas which are perfect for younger children and tots. Included in the bunch of fun stuff for younger family members is the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory ride, Old MacDonald's Tractor ride and Doodle Doo Derby. This of course is a limited list, there are many, many more. Because of the variation of rides it is an ideal place to allow sensible teenagers some independence to go to various areas of the park to try rides, whilst you stay with the younger ones for the tamer rides. A family of four ticket is just over £85, single adult tickets just over £30 and children's tickets just over £23. It seems really pricey but once you're in you're in, there's no catches, all the rides are included and there's definitely enough of those to get your money's worth out of the ticket price. The park is well kitted out with toilets, baby changing areas, refreshment bars and cafe/restaurant establishments. The Baby Care centres have stocks of nappies, baby cream etc. (all the essentials) and as well as Calpol being available there are also medical centres dotted about. There is also a hotel, spa and water park which are available but payable separately to the main attraction ticket price. A fun day out, great for all the family, despite age. Clean and safe.

Alton Towers theme park is located in Staffordshire and is a great place – particularly for older children who can really appreciate the scarier rides! There is the theme park with a wide variety of rides, including those for older children and adults such as Oblivion and Nemesis and those for younger children such as the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory ride. Then there is a water park called Caribbean lagoon and which is open all year round and has slides, a lazy river and a bubble pool. There is also now a hotel on the site so that you can really make a weekend of your visit.

I have been to Alton Towers today with my 11 yr old daughter and her friend, and my 18 month old son. My daughter and her friend both loved it and managed to get on most of the rides without queueing for hours...they went on air and nemesis right at the end when the queues had gone down a bit. I took a pushchair for my son and found that I could get everywhere without any trouble - lots of ramps and very few steps. Nappy change facilities were lovely with illuminated stars on the ceiling above the changing mat!! Although it is aimed more at older kids my 18 month still had a great time. On arrival there were some animal characters that he liked and he loved the monorail and kept waving at it whenever he spotted one! We took sandwiches but bought a few snacks while we were there which were expensive as expected.
