Africa Alive! overview
This very childfriendly zoo has all the usual African animals plus a few home-grown varieties. Start your visit by checking out the Park from an open road train with commentaries on all the animals. ...
Highlights of the day for the children will be seeing the animals being fed, so do check out animal feeding times before you go. There is also a Discovery Centre with fun activities for the kids and with animal encounter talks about the smaller animals. Don’t miss the Touch and Feed zone in the farm animal section. All this and an adventure play area for the kids to lose a little of their awesome energy makes for a great family day out.

We used to bring our children here when it was Kessingland Zoo and our children were young. Recently we took our niece here and were delighted that Africa Alive still keeps the animals in large enclosures so that they are free to roam. My young niece was absolutely delighted with the safari road train which travelled across the park. She also enjoyed playing with the farm animals and was brave and touched a lizard. The park staff were very good with the small children and encouraged them to get involved with the small animals and reptiles. Africa Alive is a zoo where children are allowed to see the animals up close and there is a lot to touch. Africa Alive is a place to go for the whole day out but the part my niece enjoyed most of all was the Wild Zone’ Indoor play area!
