Stour with its many information boards illustrating the wild life of the area. You can provide your own 'Home Economics' by having your children make the picnic to bring to eat in the picnic areas inside the castle ruins. Education as it should be!

My family found this a lovely place to visit. We met up with family from around East Anglia and all spent a wonderful day in the park. There were around 20 of us and although it was drizzling to start with we were able to sit under golf umbrellas and tarpaulins which we attached to trees. We had children of all ages from 6 months upwards with us and it was lovely to have a picnic and catch up with each other whilst the children played. There are big fields to play in and once the sun came out we had a family game of rounder’s which everyone enjoyed. The older children then took the younger ones into the enclosed play ground and gave them a great time on the swings and slides. We finished the day with a walk along the river along one of the trails which crisscross the Clare Castle Country Park. We had a great day of free good old English Fun!
