This is a museum with a difference. The many exhibits involve real people in costume bringing the area’s rich and varied history back to life. What they have done here is to reconstruct historic ...
buildings, from shops to mine heads and glass factory to schoolrooms. Characters in authentic costumes explain what life was like back then. There is a cinema showing silent films and a working tramline to take you around. It is a great place to take the kids for a full day out with plenty to see. Why not have a picnic or sample some real fish and chips from a good old-fashioned chippy!
