Good facilities here. We use the swimming pool and the ice-rink. At the weekend there is a kids swimming session with floats which is good fun. The pool is a good size and the times we have been to these sessions they have never been that crowded. The changing rooms are a bit old but functional. Afterwards we often get lunch at the recently refurbished café which now has an updated kids play area for the under 6s. The ice rink is also good fun but the family sessions are always busy. Go during the week in the holidays for a bit more space to move around.

Ice skating

We regularly go skating at the Link and really enjoy it. I take my own skates but my son uses the ones from the centre and has never had any problems with them. If you go to one of the family sessions it’s best to arrive at the start as by halfway through the ice is all cut up and makes skating quite hard work. It can get cold so wrap up well, we always take gloves with us too. There are push along penguins for hire to help the younger ones get round which helps if you have a younger child who isn’t quite ready to skate alone. The music can be quite loud which is good for the older kids but younger ones may not like it. Good fun and good exercise too!
