North Yorkshire Moors Railway overview
Step on board at Pickering Railway Station and take a magical steam train ride through the North Yorkshire moors. Stop off at the one of the rural stations and take a healthy hike on the moors, or ...
just visit one of the traditional station tearooms. Levisham, up in the hills has an Artist in Residence and a camping coach for a holiday stay. Tiny Newton Dale Halt is a good place to start a walk in the National Park. Goathland is better know as Hogsmeade station in the Harry Potter films. Gosmont is one of the modern stations (1952!) and the junction with the main rail network. The end of the line is the seaside town of Whitby where you can enjoy genuine fish and chips before your return journey. The whole journey from Pickering to Whitby takes just over an hour and a half. Keep an eye on their website for super seasonal specials.
