Assisi overview
Assisi is one of Italy’s most famous tourist destinations. It is quite small and so does tend to get a wee bit overcrowded (a perfect example of British understatement). Its huge popularity is ...
matched by the sheer beauty of its churches and setting, overlooking a valley that has remained unchanged for 500 years. None of which will probably impress the kids unless they are studying Giotto in their Art Project. Not to be helped, if you are in the area you can’t not come. Try a ‘cono con 3 gusti ‘(ice cream cone with 3 different toppings) as a distraction. It will keep them happy and sticky before you wipe them down and whisk them into the Basilica to see those awesome frescoes about the life of Assisi’s famous Saint Francis.
