Family Days Out In Jersey

Welcome to Jersey the home of delicious Jersey Royal potatoes, creamy Channel Island milk, Bergerac and most importantly, some great family days out! This beautiful island just off the coast of Normandy has lots on offer for families. A good starting point is the Jersey Museum which vividly brings to life Jersey’s long and interesting history with a series of child-friendly and interactive exhibits. From its ancient Neolithic origins to its German occupation during the Second World War and its current status as a great holiday destination, the museum animates it all with great displays. Animal lovers should head to the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust named after its famous founder naturalist and author Gerald Durrell. There they house an amazing variety of species sheltering them from possible extinction. From gorillas and bears to boa constrictors and iguanas, you can see some of the most rare and remarkable creatures in the world. For great views of the whole island head to Mont Orgueil Castle which is located on the east coast of Jersey and sits above the town of Gorey offering a unique perspective. The castle was originally built to repel a French invasion and is an impressive site with great exhibits which tell its own history in a family friendly way.
