Legoland Windsor - Rides and Attractions

The Beginning
As the name suggests, this where your day out begins. Located at the park entrance on top of a hill, you can stock up on supplies for the day, rent your Q-Bot or simply take in the views of the surrounding countryside. I recommend dropping into the LEGO Creation Centre, a workshop where the park’s model makers create their fantastic works of art. The only attraction here is Rocket Racers, a virtual racing arcade where you get to design your own racing driver and car.

Imagination Centre
As you walk down the hill into the park, you pass by the Imagination Centre, home to the
Park’s educational programme of activities and events. There are Build and Test workshops that introduce older children to a range of sciences like robotics and construction, an Imagination Theatre that shows 4-D movies including Bob the Builder™ in 4D, which is ideal for younger kids.

Miniland
For many including me, Miniland is synonymous with LEGOLAND. Over 40 million LEGO bricks have been used to recreate some of the world’s most iconic cities and natural wonders. My two children were enthralled by mini-London, which includes a rotating London Eye, Canary Wharf, Millennium Bridge, Buckingham Palace and even an Underground station.

DUPLO® Land
Those with younger children will probably be familiar with DUPLO®, LEGO’s giant sized bricks. In keeping with that theme, here you will find interactive play areas designed in bold colours, a Waterworks area (I recommend that you take swimming togs and towels as it involves lots of water-based activities), as well as gentle rides, mini-golf and puppet shows.

Traffic
Situated next to DUPLO® Land, Traffic gives children the opportunity to experience driving a car at Driving School, skippering a boat at Boating School or even piloting a hot-air balloon at Balloon School. This may conjure up chaotic images of children crashing cars or boats into one-another, however, it’s all done in a controlled and safe environment that simulates the real thing! There’s even a Fire Academy where you can put out a ‘burning’ building from a
LEGO fire engine.

Kingdom of the Pharaohs (New!)
LEGOLAND’s newest area is themed after this ancient Egyptian civilisation and showcases a number of rides and experiences for children of different ages. My two daughters were a little young for the thrill rides – Scarab-bouncers, Thunder Blazer and
Laser Raiders – so opted for Desert Chase (carousel) and Aero Nomad (swings).

Land of the Vikings
My favourite of the activity areas, Land of the Vikings also has the biggest and wettest ride in the park, Vikings’ River Splash which is suitable for slightly older children (including my 5-year old). Both Longboat Invader, a large, spinning swing boat and Spinning Spider are suitable for everyone. There’s also a Nordic themed hedge maze and Viking Games.

LEGO® City
Gaming zones, half-sized buildings, harbour and 30ft lighthouse – centrepiece of the park’s popular live action show – make up LEGO® City. My kids and I most enjoyed Orient Expedition, a steam train ride through the wilds of the Orient. There’s also a Digger Challenge where children over 4 can take control of a full-sized mechanical digger!

Adventure Land
Head here if it’s thrills and spills that you are after. Adventure Land hosts the park’s biggest roller coaster Jungle Coaster as well as a Wave Surfer, climbing wall. For younger children there is a Dino Safari and Dino Dipper, a carousel.

Wild Woods
As the name suggests, this area is located in the most heavily wooded area of the park. Highlights include a superb adventure playground and Pirate Falls log flume.

Knight’s Kingdom
Centre piece of Knights’ Kingdom is the Dragon Knight’s Castle, home to The Dragon, an exhilarating roller coaster. Younger riders can experience the Dragon’s Apprentice, a gentle coaster located in the castle grounds. Despite the long queue’s my youngest daughter loved this ride.
