Family Days Out in Reading

Come to Reading for a great family day out where there’s plenty for families’ to do together. A good place to start is The Museum of Reading, not a literary museum but instead somewhere that houses a variety of fun, family friendly exhibitions detailing Reading’s long and colourful history with absolutely no admission fee. Wellington Country Park is also worth a visit with the little ones as its 350 acres of open spaces and woodland is a real treat. Packed with activity centres and play areas designed for the kids as well as a crazy golf course and miniature railway train that runs around the park this is one place the kids will really enjoy visiting. For a more tranquil afternoon why not try the Herb Farm and Saxon Maze close to the village of Sonning Common which has a fantastic garden which you can wander around in and then lose yourself in their maze. After building up an appetite why not check out Daisy’s Café Shop where you can sample a little of their homemade delicious cakes and other rustic fare?
