been lovingly looked after by the same family for generations. Blair Castle just oozes elegance and history. The tour of the interior has so much to interest all the family from grand staircases and claymores, to stags heads and tapestries. Be warned there are many stairs to go up and down so it’s not suitable for pushchairs. When you finish your tour, head to the little tearoom on the terrace where, if you time it right, you can watch a Scottish bagpiper. The extensive grounds are just packed full of things for the children from a tractor tours of the estate to treasure hunts. There is also a recently installed adventure playground. Refreshments of every type are available but it’s the ideal place for a picnic if the sun is shining.
