nice wee play area

It has everything that children are after in a play area- ball pool etc and the staff are very nice but it is rather small and my wee one got bored quicker than she usually does in play areas, everytime weve went theres only been a few children therefore not a lot for my child to play with and i think thats what made her want to go home as shes not one to play by herself.

Don't go to the Abbey Soft Play at Kelso's Ace Centre expecting a huge amount. It's a community funded and run area, with low horizons but a huge amount of heart.
There's a biggish room with lots of toys, dressing up clothes, indoor slide and soft play area, ball pit etc, as well as a separate cafe. Food can't be taken into the soft play area and your children are your own responsibility throughout, so this isn't somewhere you can sit and have a coffee and let them get on with it.
That said, my three (aged 3 1/2 and twins aged nearly 2) with friend aged nearly 3, loved it. They charged around and screamed and slid and fought over the toys and generally had a splendid time.
And afterwards we had a very reasonably priced freshly prepared sandwich and baked potato in the cafe.
This is definitely not worth making a special trip for, but if you're in Kelso, and it's wet, and you don't know what else to do, it's significantly better than its reputation would suggest. We were desperate so went there, we won't need to be desperate next time.
