Cenarth Falls overview

The river Teifi running through Cenarth has a number of beautiful waterfalls which are named Cenarth Falls. Cenarth is also famous for its coracles, which are small wooden fishing boats that can be ... seen on the river at high tide, as well as salmon leaping through the river During the summer months, visitors to Cenarth Falls can enjoy a ride on a coracle which is sure to be a unique experience! There's a pleasant circular walk along the river and through woodland, but please be advised that this is not suitable for puschairs. Cenarth is dominated by a 200 hundred year old bridge and also has a 17th Century Flour Mill, Smithy Heritage Centre, St Llawddog's church and an ancient well, so there is plenty for families to see and do. Facilities at Cenarth Falls include a picnic area, a number of cafes and pubs that cater for children as well as a local shop.

A beautiful setting for a family walk

28 Jun 2010
Visited with: Infant
We stopped in Cenarth on the way back from Cardigan as it looked so picturesque. The river Teifi has a number of beautiful waterfalls and Cenarth is also famous for its coracles (small wooden circular rivercraft). It is home to the national coracle centre and if you are lucky you will see the coracles on the river. We decided to take the baby on a designated walk in our baby carrier as the river bank terrain was unsuitable for pushchairs. The walk takes you along the river with lovely views of the falls and then takes you back to the original starting point through beautiful forestry. The walk took us about 45 minutes and wasn't too challenging but I think young children may struggle with the terrain as it is quite uneven under foot. We enjoyed our stop here and would recommend it to anyone passing though Cenarth.
