SeaQuarium overview

Aquariums used to be large rectangular tanks, with green algae on the sides, housing bemused fish endlessly circling in the murky water. SeaQuarium in Rhyl shows how much has improved and progressed ... since then. Not only can you study the creatures in their pristine surroundings face to face, you can also go underneath to view them in Britain's first underwater gallery. All the usual suspects are here from sharks to shrimps to provide both an interesting and educationally entertaining visit for all the family.

We visited Rhyl Seaquarium on the 5th of August 2011. We were all really excited as we had been wanting to visit the seaquarium for a while. When we arrived we parked at the nearest pay and display which costs £4.50 for the day. It's a short walk over a hill to the centre. It cost us £8.25 per adult and £7.25 so in total it was £23.75. We walked around the seaquarium at a steady pace and looed at everything there was to look at and read. We were at the end in less than 1 hour. We were disappointed but the fish and exhibits themselves were great they just needed more. We then decided to have lunch in their cafe. The staff were clueless about what they had in their kitchen, they had one panini left which isn't great in the school holidays and the tables in the cafe were sticky. This was at 11:30! We decided to have lunch elsewhere and returned at 12:45 for the sealion show which started at 1pm. The show was late starting at 1:10pm with a lot of restless kids waiting. Then they had technical problems with their microphones and one of the sealions didn't want to come out. It was a red hot day and you could see people getting annoyed. We left as soon as the show finished and had more fun along the promonade! We were really annoyed and would definately not return again. A waste of money and very over priced.
