Castell Coch Castle overview
Castell Coch (or 'Red Castle' as it is known in English) is a 19th Century castle built in an eccentric fairy tale style, just outside Cardiff. Visitors to Castell Coch can see the impressive castle ...
dominating the skyline from the M4 motorway, which means that it is easily accessible for visitors. Visitors can appreciate both the exterior and interior of Castell Coch as the inside is also decorated in a striking Victorian gothic style with vaulted ceilings and decadent art. All the rooms of the castle benefit from multi sensory presentations, informing visitors of the history surrounding them. It is also an indoor and outdoor site with a large courtyard and grounds to walk around in. There is a charge for entry but the site has a gift shop, toilets, baby changing facilities and cafe with bottle warming facilities. The site is also suitable for pushchairs and is open year round.

Castell Coch is a late nineteenth century castle that has been built in a farytale style and is reminiscent of a disney fairytale. The castle is imposing and is visible from the M4 motorway as it sits high on the hillside just outside Cardiff. Once inside you are also struck by the beauty of the interior. The drawing room is particularly impressive with painted and panelled walls and ceilings. The banqueting hall is also impressive. This venue is suitable for older children as it is essentially a beautiful historical building with not much for younger children, but its definately a great day out. It is also very cheap with adult tickets just costing £3.60 each of a family ticket is £10.40
