The Blue Lagoon overview
The Blue Lagoon Water Park is part of the large Bluestone holiday complex, located next to Oakwood theme park in the beautiful Pembrokeshire countryside. The water park is situated in a large glass ...
boat shaped dome that makes the most of the Welsh sunshine and gives the park a tropical feel even if its raining outside. It is also unique in that it is heated by a biomass, which is environmentally friendly. Features of the Blue Lagoon water park are a heated lazy river which goes outdoors in all weathers, a toddler pool with slide, waterslides and flumes that also go outdoors, a wave machine that has six wave patterns, water cannons and an outdoor and indoor spa. There is also ample poolside seating and sun loungers as well a poolside café serving drinks and snacks. Facilities on offer include a large family changing village, towel hire, a shop, dryside cafes and bars, high chairs, bottle warming facilities, baby changing facilities and ample free parking. All children under 12 must be supervised and adults aged 18 and over can supervise a maximum of 1 child under 4 years old. There are also height restrictions applicable for the water slides. The Blue Lagoon Water Park offers children’s parties and also regular baby and toddler swimming lessons.
Felt like we were on holiday

When my partner suggested going to the blue lagoon I have to say I wasn't that enthalled with the idea with spending the day at a swimming pool with my family but I have to say that I was pleasantly suprised.
It is set in a huge clear dome that captures all of the limited british sunlight to good effect. You feel like you abroad as it is lovely an warm inside, with lots of sun loungers and hyou can even enjoy a cocktail or two (responsibly of course). The pool is excellent for adults and children alike with loads of epic slides and a fantastic lazy river that actually goes outside. we enjoyed the lazy river with our baby daughter in November when it was raining and it was strangely exhilerating with being immersed in warm water while being exposed to the cold air.
It is right next to Oakwood theme park so you could try and do both in one day but I think you would struggle. There is also a small techniquest centre next to the pool which you can enjoy for a small extra charge.
This is a great day out. We enjoyed it so much we have booked our holiday in the area for this year so that we can return.

A great day out

The blue lagoon is a great day out for families of all ages. It is set in the beautiful pembrokeshire countryside next to Oakwood Theme park. It is a large family fun pool and slides encased in a large glass dome that ensures it is always lovely and warm inside. You really do feel like you are on holiday when you enter, and there are sunlougers and even a licensed bar by the side of the pool. It has a lazy river that actually goes outside. We braved it with our six month in November and found it strangely exhilerating as you are covered in warm water but actually exposed to the elements. The slides are fantastic and I even braved a few. It is also reasonably priced so great if your on a budget. I can't wait to go back.
