Warrington is a great destination for a family day out with lots on offer for the little ones. First up there’s the community’s Warrington Museum and Art Gallery, one of the oldest municipal galleries in the country and stuffed with treasures, new and old, to interest you and your kids. The art gallery has hosted shows from some of Britain’s biggest artists including Tracey Emin, Sam Taylor Wood and Banksy, while the museum has some fascinating displays with ancient objects from all around the world. Fans of Jonathan Swift’s novel will be pleased to know that you don’t have to be a Lilliputian to gain entry to Warrington’s Gulliver’s World, though this theme park is designed for the smaller folk in your family. Inside you’ll find a series of fun and thrilling rides, play parks and splash zones that the whole family will enjoy. For those who like their thrills a little scarier Apple Jacks’ Spooky World is an adventure park that has some spine-tinglingly spooky inhabitants. If you’re brave enough to walk through the Field of Screams, jump on their Haunted Hay Ride or enter the Haunted House then you’re in for a treat. Or maybe a trick! |
