Family Days Out in Windsor
|
Famed for its ancient castle and as one of the residences of the British Royal Family Windsor is a great destination for a family day out. And no visit to Windsor would be complete without a visit to Windsor Castle the largest and oldest occupied castle in the world. With 12 acres of land surrounding the castle and a number of fascinating things to see this is certainly a place to spend a good few hours. Try to time your visit with the always impressive changing of the guard where you can watch the ornately dressed guards in action. Another must-see in the area is Windsor Great Park which houses some truly spectacular gardens and great wildlife, including deer that are a legacy of the park’s previous use as a private hunting ground for the royal family in centuries past! For a more contemporary day out Windsor is also the home to Legoland one of the most popular theme parks currently in the UK. Here you can not only see a series of amazing models and worlds built out of the famous little plastic bricks but also jump on an array of amazing Lego-themed rides designed for all ages and watch some magnificent live shows. |
