holiday park and campsite with great extra activities
17 Aug 2010
Visited with: Child
We've camped here two summers running, and recommended it to friends, who were persuaded to come with us. We all had kids under four, and had a great time. It's tricky to find but so so worth it. The park has its own stretch of Chesil Beach on the Jurasic coastline. It's pebbly but beautifully clean and not at all busy as it's private to park guests.
The park also has outdoor heated pools; a large one, and a circular children's one with a fountain in it. It's heated enough even for cooler summer days - you can still enjoy it.
There are two play areas, and a land train called Sid that takes guests around the park for a small cost. There are also donkey rides and a riding stables for pony trekking. There's a alrge open football pitch for playing ball games, kite flying etc.
The showers and washing facilities for tent and motorhome campers are first class - the best I have ever come across. Spotless, warm, spacious, well-lit and even have family changing rooms and a laundry.
Heaps to do nearby such as a children's activity farm in Abbotsbury, MonkeyWorld, lots of National Trust houses nearby, and not too far from Lyme Regis and other spots along the coast.
